Paint Correction

The Protocol

Look at your car in direct sunlight. If you see a web of fine circular marks, that is paint swirling. And almost all of it can be corrected.

If you see a web of fine circular marks across the panels, that is paint swirling. If you see dull, hazy patches where the colour used to be rich and deep, that is oxidation. If you see fine lines running in one direction, those are buffer trails or wash marks left behind by careless cleaning.

None of it happened overnight. It built up over hundreds of washes, years of dust wiping, automatic car wash brushes, and the general handling that comes with owning a car in a city.

And almost all of it can be corrected.

Paint correction is the process of removing these defects from the paint surface through controlled machine polishing. Not masking them with a gloss product that fills them temporarily and washes away. Removing them. The surface that comes out the other side is the paint your car always had, finally visible the way it was meant to be.

At AutoGlow, paint correction is foundational work. We do it before any coating or protection goes on, and we do it for owners who simply want their paint to look the way it should. Serving car owners in Ahmedabad and Kochi.

Paint correction is skilled work. The margin between removing a defect and cutting through the clear coat is measured in microns. Doing it correctly requires understanding how much clear coat the paint has, how deep each defect sits, and how aggressively to work each panel.

We begin with a full paint inspection under controlled lighting. Every panel is assessed for defect type and depth. A paint thickness gauge tells us how much clear coat we are working with before we touch a machine to the surface.

From there, the correction process is staged. We work from the least aggressive combination of polish and pad that achieves the result, moving up only where necessary. Each panel is worked in sections, checked under lighting, and worked again until the defects are gone.

The result is paint that reflects light cleanly, shows its colour at full depth, and looks the way it was supposed to look before the swirls and scratches accumulated.

If you are planning to apply ceramic coating, graphene coating, or PPF, paint correction is not optional. It is the step that determines whether the protection you invest in enhances your paint or permanently seals its problems in.

A coating applied over swirl marks locks those marks in under a hard layer that cannot be unwound without removing the coating entirely. The defects are not hidden. They are preserved.

Every coating and protection service at AutoGlow begins with an honest paint assessment. Where correction is needed, we do it first. This is the standard the work demands.

Frequently Asked Questions

What warranty comes with paint correction?

The warranty duration depends on the vehicle condition and is assessed case by case during the initial inspection.

Can all scratches be corrected?

No. Paint correction addresses defects within the clear coat. Scratches that have broken through to the base coat or primer, where you can see colour change or bare metal, require touch-up or respray work, not polishing. We will tell you clearly which category each scratch falls into.

Will paint correction thin my clear coat?

Yes, by a very small amount. This is why a paint thickness gauge is used before and during the process. The goal is to remove the defect using the least material necessary. A properly executed correction removes far less clear coat than most people assume.

How long does paint correction take?

It depends on the size of the vehicle and the extent of the defects. A full correction on a heavily swirled car is a full day's work. We will give you a specific timeframe during the assessment.

How do I prevent swirl marks coming back after correction?

Washing technique is the biggest factor. Hand washing with a quality mitt, proper lubrication, and a two-bucket method eliminates most of the contact that causes swirling. A coating applied after correction also adds a layer of hardness that resists minor abrasion. We will talk you through maintenance during the handover.

Do you serve both Ahmedabad and Kochi?
